The nation’s favourite eating apples can easily be grown in your garden! RHS Award of Garden Merit winner 'Queen Cox’ is the most superior offspring of the Pippin family, offering all the best characteristics of its relatives. Apples have a complex, aromatic flavour and are juicy and sweet with a typical mellow 'Cox' taste – which improves with storage – and a deep red flush. Fruits are excellent for eating and juicing, plus they store well! Trees will set great fruits without a pollinator on an easy-to-control semi-dwarf tree with medium vigour. Height 3m after 10 years. Pollination group 3 (self-fertile). Supplied as a bare root tree.’Queen Cox’ is self-fertile but a poor pollinator of other apple varieties. It requires good conditions for fruiting. A spur bearer, pollination group 3, season of use from October to January.Apple rootstock: M26 - Dwarf reaching a mature height of 2.5-3m (8-10').Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years.Estimated time to best yields: 5 years.Plant apple trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.Product specifications:. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 300cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 300cm when fully established.
