Product Description :

A beautiful collection of naturalising bulbs for months of exquisite flowers from late winter to mid-spring. And because they naturalise easily wherever you plant them, you can be sure of bigger and better displays as they return in increasing numbers each year. Bringing a succession of brilliant colours to your garden from February to late April, they are perfect for planting in beds and borders, rock or gravel gardens, or for scattering in drifts through grass or wooded areas, each variety brimming with its own character. They are equally good when planted in pots and containers. Plant these hardy perennials in a sunny or lightly shaded position in rich, well-drained soil. In this collection you will receive: 10 x Miniature Narcissi Tête-à-Tête bulbs - A superb miniature daffodil with bright yellow blooms from February to April. This sweetly scented dwarf variety holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, is ideal for pots and the front of beds and borders, and makes a fabulous cut flower. Grows to 20cm. 20 x Anemone Blanda bulbs - A member of the buttercup family, the vibrant daisy-like flowers appear in early spring, creating a carpet of colour through March and April. With flowers up to 3-4cm wide, their long, pretty petals and golden-yellow stamens are stunningly contrasted against distinctive dark green leaves.Blooming in shades of violet-blue, pink, and white, it is easy to see why this variety holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows to 10cm. 15 x Chionodoxa bulbs (size 4/5) - Otherwise known as 'Glory of the Snow', this delightful star-like flower is a great choice for waking up your garden in early spring. With petals of the clearest gentian blue, snowy white centres and bright yellow stamens, these pretty little gems will brighten up shady spots and look simply stunning as they form an ever-increasing carpet of colour. Equally happy in full sun or part shade, they flower through March and April. Grows to 10cm. 20 x Muscari bulbs - The striking, two-tone blue, cone-shaped flowers of this grape hyacinth create a stunning show in early spring. Free-flowering, vigorous and easy to grow, Muscari are best planted in naturalistic groups in borders or pots, or under trees to create a beautiful woodland feel, giving wonderful displays through March and April. Grows to 15cm. Please note: YouGarden reserve the right to substitute one or two components to an equal number and value should insufficient stocks be available all season. Specifications Supplied as a pack of 60 bulbs of 4 varieties in various bulb sizes, ready for planting in autumn. Harmful if eaten/skin irritant Availability: October to January Planting time: September to November Flowering time: April to May Top Tips Which way up? Usually pointy end upwards, but if you are not sure, plant the bulb on its side and it will eventually right itself. Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or scatter through grass or wooded areas to naturalise. For a natural look, throw handfuls of bulbs over the ground and plant them where they fall. If planted in pots, be sure to water frequently and keep moist. Care Information Spring-flowering bulbs should be planted in the autumn for displays next season. Some bulbs can be planted as late as November, but it is best to get them in the ground early so they can establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold. Plant bulbs at twice the depth of the height of the bulb and four times their width apart. e.g 5cm tall bulbs need to be planted 10cm below the surface of the ground and 20cm apart. Please check each variety's bag for any additional planting instructions. They are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing; they'll just need a good watering when you plant them, and then only when the soil is dry. Leave them in the ground once they die back - they will come back bigger and better each year. While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
