Collection comprises: Lavender angustifolia 'Hidcote' - An RHS AGM variety with a compact habit and dark purple flower spikes, this is one of the nation's best-known varieties. Lavender 'Munstead' - This neat, compact variety of English lavender bears masses of dark purple-blue flower spikes. Pot up plants using free draining compost and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown, acclimatise English lavender plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting out on free draining soil in full sun. Lavender’s dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. Premium perennials are large plug tray plants, roughly the same size as garden ready plants like a potted plant without a pot. They will need to be acclimatised to the garden, and once all chance of frost has cleared can be planted out directly into the garden.
