Lettuce All Sorts Mix produces deliciously fresh vegetables to add with your summer salads or garnishes. Harvest period all year round! Height Up To 15cm (6in). Spread Up To 30cm (12in)Grow lettuce in an open position on rich fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Transplant lettuce when they have 5 or 6 leaves into a well prepared bed. Plant them so that the bottom leaves are just above soil level. Space lettuce plants at a distance of 23cm (9”) apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. In hot weather the plants will require shading until they are established. Water the plants thoroughly after planting.Water lettuce frequently and hoe between plants regularly to prevent weeds from establishing. Dry weather may cause heads of lettuce plants to bolt so watering is particularly critical during the 2 weeks before harvesting. A thick mulch applied around the plants will help to retain moisture in the soil.
