Brainboxes UC-368 Universal PCI 4 Port OPTO Velocity RS422/485 provides four serial ports independently configurable as RS422 with and without hand-shaking, or RS485 full or half duplex, with opto isolation on all RS422/485 lines. The card has on-board zener diodes giving transient spike protection to the inputs, making these cards ideal for factory automation installations.
Optical Isolation: 1500 Volts DC, 1000 Volts AC. Optical isolation provides greater protection from electrical current surges to both the card itself and the PC. It improves noise immunity by isolating the PC from the card's transmit ground.
