Somerton Guest House was built in 1850 s by Sir Morton Peto a Victorian Engineer who also brought the railway to Lowestoft to enable the fish caught off Lowestoft to be exported to the markets of London.
Brian & Ursula have been proud owners of Somerton Guest house since January 2013. This is a well-established warm and friendly traditional bed and breakfast.
We have made a number of changes throughout our home decorating our beautiful Victorian Grade ii listed building. At times this has been a challenging difficult process but always rewarding. We have added a number of new features which we hope will enhance your experience and make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable.
The establishment offers accommodation for Family double and twin rooms all with en-suite facilities and our single bedrooms have a private bathroom each. As well as your hosts providing a family friendly atmosphere each room is furnished with all your needs including mini fridges with complimentary bottled water digital flat screen TV free Wi-Fi hospitality tray alarm clock hair dryer and many other complimentary accessories to make your stay in our home as comfortable as possible. We provide little ones Buckets and spades windbreaks beach towels ect.

A short drive to Minsmere ( Spring watch fame) Oulton broad the only Suffolk broad which boasts the oldest power boat racing circuit in the country this is still in use every Thursday evening and bank holidays throughout the Summer Beccles Southwold famous for Adnams brewery and the pier Bungay. Also nearby there are the attractions of Africa alive Pleasure wood hill Theme park Framlingham castle.Lowestoft transport and Maritime museum.
