Alinka is a traditional hybrid tea rose with sensational fiery coloured fragrant blooms which flower throughout the summer continuing through to the last warm and sunny days of autumn. Its medium to large bi-coloured flowers open from scarlet-red buds into a sunset combination of rich red and golden yellow with the blooms starting early in the season, in late May. An upright and bushy shrub with dark green, glossy leaves, Alinka will grow to around 1-1.2m producing blooms that are perfect as cut flowers. Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don't worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back. Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot. For best results, feed roses in late-March/April and again in late July.
