Thompson & Morgan Hardy Vinca Minor 'Ralph Shugert' is a colourful, low maintenance hardy shrub, perfect for rockeries, woodland and cottage gardens. Variegated leaves with dainty yellow margins make an attractive background for the large violet flowers of this lesser periwinkle. The creeping stems spread quickly to create superb evergreen groundcover. This particular variety is tough and resilient, thriving in virtually any garden position, from full sun to trickier shaded spots beneath trees and between shrubs. Grow Thompson & Morgan Hardy Vinca Minor 'Ralph Shugert' plants in borders outdoors in any moist, well drained soil. Periwinkle is a particularly tough plant, and will thrive in any garden position, provided that the soil isn’t overly dry. Feed and water Vinca plants regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established Vinca plants require only occasional attention. Pruning Periwinkle is best in spring when they can be cut back hard to restrict their growth. Caution: harmful if eaten.
