Thompson & Morgan Cornus ‘Eddie’s White Wonder’ bursts into bloom in late spring, producing small green-purple flowers surrounded by large, showy white bracts for a truly breath-taking display. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety is perfect for small gardens, forming a broad, deciduous tree or multi stemmed shrub. The large green leaves turn to glowing shades of orange, red and purple in autumn for a long season of interest. Grow this fabulous Dogwood as a specimen tree or as part of a mixed border. Gradually acclimatise Cornus plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Grow Thompson & Morgan Cornus ‘Eddie’s White Wonder’ trees in rich fertile, well-drained, neutral to acid soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted garden manure or garden compost into the soil to improve drainage and soil fertility. Plant dogwood trees in a sunny or semi-shaded position. Feed and water flowering dogwoods regularly until fully established. Once established, Cornus trees require only occasional attention. Pruning dogwood is best kept to a minimum, removing only occasional damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in late winter or early spring. As the tree matures, the lower branches can be removed to create a clear trunk. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant in spring. Caution: Fruits are harmful if eaten and leaf hairs may irritate skin and eyes.
