Rock Rose ‘Sunset’, also known as Sun Rose, is a low-growing shrub that is a ‘must-have’ for hot, sunny borders and gravel gardens. The bright pink, tissue-paper blooms are borne in abundance from June to August, each lasting just a day, before a new bloom opens to take its place. Green-grey, wavy, evergreen foliage provides year round interest and colour. Rock Rose ‘Sunset’ enjoys poor, dry soils where many plants would struggle, and even copes well in coastal conditions. Although hard to around -5°C, rock roses will appreciate a sheltered position with some winter protection. Choose a sheltered positon in full sun when growing Rock Rose ‘Sunset’. Cistus plants will happily grown in poor soils. When planting in patio containers, use a good quality soil-based compost.
