This conical tree is cloaked in a dense covering of foliage which emerges a vibrant blue-green before maturing to a deeper, lush green towards summer and into winter. If you’re looking for something to bring year-round colour and structural interest to a confined space or as part of a mixed border, this zero-maintenance compact conifer will do so with the minimum of fuss. Plant Junipers in a sunny or lightly shaded position, in any well drained soil; juniper trees tolerate dry, chalky or sandy soils. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply.
