A classic sign of spring, our ‘In the Green’ Snowdrops bulbs are ready for spring planting. With both double and single types, you can enjoy an elegant display of nodding, pure white blooms, surrounded by bright green foliage. Diverse and easy to grow, these spring beauties can be grown in the dappled shade at the foot of trees, naturalised in grass and or planted in large groups in containers and window boxes. Plant snowdrops in the dappled shade of deciduous trees. Snowdrop bulbs thrive in reliably moist, well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 10cm (4") apart. For natural looking drifts of snowdrop flowers, gently cast them across the planting area and plant them where they land! Snowdrops require reliably moist soil throughout summer. Water bulbs if necessary until they are fully established. When growing snowdrops, it is essential to allow their foliage to die back naturally as this will feed the bulb for the following year.
