You’ll love the attractive textural foliage of Polystichium Setiferum Herrenhausen! This fabulous fern will tolerate drier soils where other ferns fail, making it a very valuable addition to woodland borders, where it will thrive under shrubs and trees. The fronds unfurl to reveal fine, lacy foliage, which lies horizontally, creating lovely rosettes of evergreen groundcover. Although the fronds get tatty by the end of the winter, simply snip them off to make way for blankets of spring bulbs. This pretty fern is also usefully for covering the fading flowers of your spring display with fresh green leaflets. This is the perfect choice for spring-themed borders and pots, associating well with spotty pulmonarias, hostas and foxgloves. Height and Spread: 60cm (24”). Plant ferns in a sheltered spot. Choose a cool position semi-shade or dappled shade on fertile, moist, acid or neutral, soil.
