Perfect for containers or filling gaps at the front of sunny borders, Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun' is a fantastic, brightly coloured blanket flower, guaranteed to add extra cheer to your garden. This is an extremely dwarf, compact, mound-forming flower plant with daisy-like blooms in vibrant two-tone red and yellow. Gaillardias are particularly resilient plants, thriving in light sandy soils and even tolerating drought and coastal positions. Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send ours before they flower, hardened off, at the perfect time for planting out. Plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season. Pot up blanket flower plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions in borders and containers. Grow gaillardia plants in any fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size.
