With large, dramatic near-black leaves, they steal the show throughout the summer months before producing a fabulous crescendo of contrasting bright red flower towards the end of the season. Their impressive height and large leaves coupled with a narrow footing means that you can plant them close to create a bold swathe, as well as fit them in to a narrow space where a screen may be needed.
