Joan J is a reliable raspberry with huge, delicious-tasting fruits. It is a bountiful cropper and will produce fruit for 4 months, beginning in July and continuing well into autumn. As a primocane variety, Joan J will fruit on the current season’s growth, so can be pruned to the ground in February.Plant in full sun, in free draining soil enriched with garden compost or well-rotted manure. Plant in rows with 60cm between plants and water well in the first year while plants are becoming established. In large containers, use a soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
