Shallot Autumn Twin Pack is a tasty collection of two varieties, that each produce their own beautiful flavour perfect for adding to your favourite dishes.This Collection Contains:Griselle – Produces good crops of long grey-skinned bulbs in June. This variety produces a robust spicy taste ideal for pickling or cooking. This variety is easy to grow, best planted in October where it will then multiply well to give a good crop. Perfect for using green or dried for storage well into winter.. Longor- Producing excellent elongated banana type crops with a copper-coloured skin and pink flesh. Each shallot yields 6-8 bulbs when harvested from June- September. Producing a sweet flavour these shallots are easy to peel and slicePlant shallots in rows in any firm, well drained soil in full sun. Prepare the planting area several weeks in advance by incorporating some well rotted garden compost to improve drainage and soil fertility. Avoid planting shallots on freshly manured soil. On particularly wet ground, try growing shallots in raised beds. When growing shallots from sets, plant the bulbs so that the tip of bulb is just protruding through the soil surface.
