Perfect for the middle of borders, Astrantia major Censation™ 'Milano' is a showy variety, boasting raspberry red blooms from June to August each year. Plants have glossy green and deeply divided foliage, forming an attractive spreading clump. It enjoys growing in a sunny yet shaded position, sitting well in a cottage, cut flower and woodland gardens. The flowers are loved by bees and butterflies, so this hardy perennial is ideal for planting in wildlife areas too. The bold blooms make a superb cut flower whether you use them fresh or dried for winter arrangements in your home. Height: 50cm (19"). Spread: 45cm (18"). Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or semi shade. Add plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting, and water plants well until established.
