The fabulous flowerheads often appear after the foliage has died back, so mingle these bulbs among other perennials for a fuller effect. The bold blooms are carried on stiff upright stems in early summer and will punctuate sunny borders with pops of colour and makes a great cut flower for the home. Allium caeruleum is easy to grow and low maintenance - ideal for cottage and wildlife gardens. When buying bulbs, quality is everything.
