This mixture of vibrant Heucheras provide a bright splash of colour to the garden throughout most of the year with their colourful leaves. During the summer months, they treat you to a profusion of flowers in delicate sprays which create a lovely airy look. These neat, compact clump-forming plants are perfect for filling spaces in borders as well as to tuck into container combinations. Maintaining their rich colouring throughout most of the year, they’re a fantastic, contemporary way to brighten up a winter planting scheme too. Heucheras are low maintenance and easy to grow, over time they form a beautiful and effective ground cover. These undemanding and unfussy plants will do well in sun or partial shade, given a good moist but free draining soil. Pot up heuchera plants, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them outdoors. Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade. Feed and water coral flower plants regularly until they are fully established. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of heuchera every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
