This collection contains: Dahlia 'Nuit d Ete' - a cactus Dahlia with eye-catching burgundy blooms, ideal for sunny borders Dahlia 'Maggiore Fire' - an exotic-looking perennial with vibrant red and yellow flowers, perfect cut flower Dahlia 'Pulp Fiction' - a compact cultivar with bright red blooms and dark foliage Dahlia 'Mambo' - mauve-pink, double blooms with golden edges that make it stand out Ideal For: Patio, Cottage Gardens, Exotic Gardens, Cut Flower Garden Hardiness: Half-hardy Position In: Full sun Height: Up to 120cm Spread: Up to 60cm Dahlia 'Rouge Collection' is supplied as 4 tubers, one of each variety. Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June. Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While dahlia plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Bedding dahlia are generally grown as annuals, however dahlia tubers may be lifted in autumn and stored over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position if required. They can be potted up the following spring.
