Try this unusual white Strawberry ‘Snow White’ and you’re in for a treat. Also known as Pineberry, not only does it look unique with white flesh and red seeds, its flavour is like a strawberry but with a distinct hint of pineapple! Best enjoyed freshly picked, great for snacking or for topping cakes and desserts, and also suitable for making puddings and jams. Grow this hardy strawberry just like any other, in a sunny spot with free-draining soil will be ideal, either in rows in the kitchen garden, troughs or patio pots.Plant strawberry plants in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well manured, free draining soil. Plant strawberry runners every 45cm (18") in rows spaced at 75cm (30") apart. Spread out their roots and place them in the soil at a level where the crown of the plant is just poking above the surface. Avoid planting them too deeply as this may cause them to rot.
