Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Tom Thumb’ provides year-round colour and structure with its neat, compact habit and attractive, glossy wavy-edged leaves with mottled markings. In spring, new growth emerges bright green which makes a striking contrast against the mature dark purple foliage, creating a two-tone effect. Use this attractive evergreen shrub for low-maintenance interest and structure in borders or as a feature in a large patio container. Ideal for combining with soft ornamental grasses for a contemporary look, or among flowering perennials to suit a more traditional style. Grow Pittosporum in any rich,fertile but well drained soil. Choose a position with shelter from cold winter winds in sun or semi shade - the best leaf colour will be produced when grown in full sun. Feed and water regularly until fully established.
