Clematis Florida 'Taiga' - This climber is certainly impressive! From Japanese breeding, Clematis Florida 'Taiga' has multiple layers of vibrant purple petals with an interesting contrast of delicate white tips. Its high production levels mean blooms appear throughout the summer, surrounded by a background of rich green foliage. Compact, neat and easy to grow, this plant is perfect for walls and fencing as well as in a pot as a patio feature. Pot up clematis plants and grow them on until large enough to plant in their final positions. When planting clematis, choose a position in sun or semi-shade and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Position the top of the rootball at a depth of 7.5cm (3") below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry.
