Meconopsis 'Lingholm' has indescribable, clear blue coloured blooms up to 10cm across contrasting against golden yellow stamens standing tall on lime green stems. These Himalayan Blue Poppies will create a spectacular perennial feature, bringing the wow factor to difficult, damp shady areas throughout early summer. Protect plants from cold, dry winds. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 50cm (20"). Pot up meconopsis plants into peaty compost and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions with protection from strong, direct sunlight. When they are well grown, acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions. Choose a sheltered spot in semi or dappled shade - a cool, moist woodland situation is ideal, but the Himalayan poppy will also thrive in a moist, shaded border. Meconopsis prefers a rich, moist, neutral to acid, well drained soil that remains moist throughout summer, but does not sit wet in winter.
