Pieris Japonica 'Mountain Fire' - A hardy shrub that brings year round colour to the garden. Pieris Japonica 'Mountain Fire' has an abundance of foliage, growing bright red in the spring before transforming into glowing burnt orange and eventually maturing into a dark green. Spring brings clusters of white, hanging blooms which attract a variety of pollinators, adding to the charm of this plant. Easy to grow and maintain, this Pieris is ideal for the patio and cottage gardens. Ideal For: Patio, Cottage Gardens, Low Maintenance Garden, Specimen Plant, Woodland Garden Hardiness: Hardy Position In: Sun or semi shade Height: Up to 200cm Spread: Up to 150cm Pieris Japonica 'Mountain Fire' is supplied as either 1 x 9cm Pot Grow Pieris plants in a sunny or partially shaded position, in a moderately fertile, rich, well drained and acidic soil. Alternatively grow Pieris in large containers, using ericaceous (acidic) compost. Whilst your Pieris plants are young, they may require some winter protection. As they become established, you will find that Pieris plants will need very little pruning. After flowering, you can trim them to keep a good shape, and remove any dead or damaged growth.
