An established favourite, Monarda ‘Croftway Pink’ bears whorls of rose-pink flowers surrounded by a ruff of pink bracts and blooms almost continuously from July to September with regular deadheading. Bergamot are unusual-looking but hardworking perennials that deserve a place in any herbaceous border or wildlife garden. The blooms are borne on stiff, upright stems and are a magnet for bees. Bergamot flowers make an excellent addition to bouquets and the citrus-scented leaves can be eaten in salads or dried and used to make pot pourri.
