Romaine Lettuce 'Valmaine' remain productive throughout the season with regular cropping and successive sowings. Its leaves have a sweet flavour and fleshy texture, make them perfect for salads and sandwiches, and young leaves have no bitterness. Alternatively, leave to mature and your plants will produce conical heads with a crunchy, crisp texture.Direct sow lettuce seeds outdoors from March to August into well prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or semi shade.
