Thompson & Morgan Phlox douglasii 'White Admiral' is an excellent carpeting plant, that creates a low cushion of weed-suppressing foliage. In spring, ‘White Admiral’ is smothered in spectacular white flowers. Moss Phlox plants are very resilient, pest and disease free and require very little attention. Grow Phlox douglasii 'White Admiral' in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Plants require particularly good drainage for best results. Once established, Phlox douglasii is reasonably drought tolerant and requires little attention, except occasional watering during particularly dry periods. Grow phlox plants in any fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Feed and water regularly, particularly during dry periods, until young phlox plants are fully established. After flowering, lightly shear the stems to encourage lots of fresh new growth.
