High-performance disk drives, high-capacity nearline disk drives, and flash (solid state) drives are supported. Drives of the same form factor can be intermixed within an enclosure, and 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch expansion units can be intermixed within a Storwize V3700 Storage System. A Storwize V3700 Storage System scales up to 240 drives with the attachment of nine Storwize V3700 expansion units. The 3.5-inch models support ac power, while the 2.5-inch models are available with either ac power or dc power.
