THE GEORGE is an inn with history serving its first customers from 1789 . A victim of the devastating floods of 1953 home to the inaugural meeting of the Norfolk Naturalist Trust and a focal point for bird watchers for many years thanks to its bird bible it sits imposingly over the salt marshes looking out toward Blakeney Harbour. Now being let out as holiday apartments where guests can stay and enjoy all the beautiful things that North Norfolk has to offer.
All the bedrooms on the first and second floor have all been newly refurbished with new bathrooms installed. On the first floor rooms 3 4 and 5 are particularly spacious with wonderful views over the marshes towards Blakeney Point.
Tranquility is on the doorstep thanks to the huge skies acres of colourful salt-marsh and mile-upon-mile of un-spoilt beaches that are also a haven for wildlife.
Here at Cley-next-the-Sea with it s narrow roads no street lights and a traditional red phone-box you will find a beautiful idyllic north Norfolk brick and flint village that is bursting with character and filled with local culture. No wonder so many people are enchanted by this stretch of coastline.
We are a very dog friendly place.
