Description

Penkerris is a lovely old house built in 1903 with many of the original features. The lawned garden was once a croquet lawn but now we have comfortable garden chairs picnic tables and a barbecue. Children can play badminton or volleyball. There are swings and outdoor toys. There is parking for nine cars and two entrances.

The cosy lounge has a 40 television Sky and BT Sport. There are indoor toys trains dolls and board games. The comfortable bedrooms have TV wifi and tea/coffee making facilities.

We serve breakfast in the unique dining room. We buy local produce including bread baked here in the village.

St Agnes three beaches are different in character. Chapel Porth is magnificent with towering cliffs huge caves pools soft sand and good surfing. The cliff paths are glorious and one can see the ruins of Wheal Coates one of the most photographed Engine Houses in Cornwall. There is a National Trust car park toilets and a small cafe. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer.

Trevaunance Cove is comfortably commercialised with three car parks toilets and beach huts including ours which guests may use. There are ruins of an old harbour and many little rock pools where children can see small crabs fish and sea anemones. It is a very safe beach with lifeguards in the summer. Trevaunance Cove is good for surfing when rough and for swimming when calm.

Trevellas Porth is small and far from the madding crowd . There are no facilities no toilets no cafe no lifeguards.

St Agnes is on the coast almost midway between Newquay and St Ives. There are local buses to Newquay almost every hour and in the summer a few that go along the coast to St Ives. Truro with its cathedral big shops and county museum (a truly wonderful collection of minerals) is only 8 miles away (bus every hour).

Penkerris is central for visiting Lands End and St Michael s Mount in the west as well as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan in the east.
