The White Lion is a traditional 17th century pub with accommodation which has been recently converted from our former coach house and stables. We are located in the heart of Soberton village which is quintessentially English an Area of Outstanding Beauty and within the South Downs National Park.

This is the perfect place to stay unwind and relax after a day walking cycling or enjoying the many delights of Hampshire.

Our accommodation consists of two double rooms with king size beds and one suite each offering luxury in the country . All are well appointed rooms each offering a high standard of decoration with luxury fabrics and accessories. The rooms are all fully equipped with en-suite bathrooms heating flat screen television hairdryer ironing facilities and a refreshment tray.

For bookings made with breakfast our guests are offered a choice of cereals fresh fruit and yoghurt. This is then followed by a choice of either a Full English Breakfast or two lighter options including a vegetarian choice. If you still have room: finish with toast and preserves and an endless supply of tea and coffee. We also offer a room only rate.

We have a reputation for delicious locally sourced food and popular local real Ales from the Bowman Brewery in Wallops Wood. We offer a daily menu and a specials menu in both our restaurant or bar area.

This atmospheric old pub still retains its open fires and wood burning stoves wooden floors and a very warm welcome.

The White Lion at Soberton is an excellent base for a rural break with an abundance of walking on the doorstep. However with the nearby links to the M27 and M3 it is also the perfect base to visit Portsmouth and its harbour which is home to some famous ships and the waterfront area which is dominated by the Spinnaker Tower. Southampton which is a major port and the closest city to the New Forest or Winchester England s ancient capital all are within a 30 minute drive.
