Harbour House was built in 1839 and was designed by celebrated Scottish engineer Thomas Telford. It forms part of a row of houses known by photographers the world over as one of Skye s most famous scenes. Originally described as neatly furnished and well adapted for respectable families the first occupant was Captain John MacKenzie who sailed the Hebridean seas as well as further afield. Today you ll find that a hint of its maritime past continues in the carefully chosen d?cor. Harbour House is designed to be cosy and comfortable with lots of space for friends and families and your own private sitting out space on the water s edge. In spite of its superb location the house is remarkably quiet being on the calm largely traffic-free side of the harbour and come nightfall all you tend to hear is the sound of the water and the ship s masts clinking in the breeze. Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with woodburner and a large kitchen diner well-equipped for all your catering needs. Both look directly out to the sea. There is also a utility/boot room with washer and dryer. Upstairs there are two sea-facing bedrooms one with kingsize and the other with a superking bed and a third twin bedroom at the rear. There are two bathrooms one with shower and the second with a bath and over bath shower. Parking is available for 1 large car or two small cars.
