The Brownlow was built by Lord Brownlow at the time of the construction of the Grand Union Canal in the late 18th century. For many years it was run as a public house and the horses that pulled the barges were rested in the stables whilst their owners refreshed themselves with real ales!
The pub closed down in the 1960 s and the stables were later converted into the 5 en-suite rooms that you can stay in now.
The entire property is non-smoking. Thank you in advance for respecting this.
As we are located directly on the canal we ask you to take especial care of young children and keep them supervised at all times in the gardens.
The converted stables provide 5 en-suite bedrooms all on ground level. Four of the rooms are doubles and one is twin bedded.
Each room has tea and coffee making facilities flat screen LCD TV with free-view wi-fi access and selected soaps and toiletries.
Pets are welcome at a charge of ?10 per stay.
