The Runcible Spoon in Hinderwell is close to the North Yorkshire heritage coast with the stunning beaches of Runswick Bay Sandsend and Saltburn by the Sea. Situated in the National Park and close to upland heather moorland and remote valleys perfect for the walker or cyclist. There are the towns too namely Whitby and Saltburn by the Sea which offer local amenities shopping and night life. Whitby hosts the now twice yearly Gothic festival which is a dressing up costume event spectacular with live music events. Not to be missed is the Music Port World Music festival which has showcased major world and folk entertainers of international repute. The traditional regatta is also an attraction with boat races a fair and fireworks. Saltburn by the Sea is now a favourite for tourists and locals alike the famous pier and cliff lift and its surfing beaches to name just a few.
At the Runcible Spoon all rooms have flat-screen TV wifi and en-suite facilities and comfortable beds. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the rooms too.
The cafe is a relaxed place to enjoy coffee and cake yummy lunches and afternoon tea with window bar seating and a tea garden to choose from. During the evening we specialise in our own stone baked pizza and specials menu with local fish meat and vegetarian options.
You will find a small village shop at the property which sells a good quality range of beers wines and spirits. Pizza takeaway from 5 till 9pm at the weekends and during the day we sell pies and pastries bread and the finest preserves.
