Our delightful 19th century Farmhouse is situated on a quiet country road approximately 1 mile from the village of Clovelly and the South West Coastal footpath. Ideally situated for exploring the area and further afield.
The house itself is full of character with open fires flagstone floors and exposed beams. The rooms are very comfortable spacious and light furnished with antiques and period furniture. Look out of your window in the morning and amongst the cattle grazing in the fields you may well spot a Deer Fox or passing Pheasant.
We are rated as 4 gold stars with the AA and also hold a prestigious AA Breakfast award for the high standard and wide selection of choices available. We have been awarded the Tripadvisor certificate of Excellence every year since 2012
We are perfectly situated above the wonderful village of Clovelly where the cobbled street meanders to the harbour unchanged for generations and well worth a visit. By staying close to the village you have the chance to visit early in the morning or enjoy a leisurely dinner when the tourists have all gone..then it s just you and a few locals!
There are many beaches both sandy (Bude or Westward Ho!) or small rocky coves in easy reach. The dramatic coastline of the Hartland peninsular should not be missed enjoy the staggering cliffs and beach at Hartland Quay or visit Hartland point and see the old lighthouse.
If you like visiting historic properties look no further than Hartland Abbey (much of the BBCs Sense & Sensibility was filmed here) the National Trust property Arlington Court close to Barnstaple or Tapeley Park at Instow.
The award winning gardens at Docton Mill Hartland (sample their cream tea too) or the RHS gardens at Rosemoor (Torrington) are spectacular at any time of year.
If you fancy trying out your sea legs why not visit Lundy Island just off the coast. The Oldenburg sails regularly from Bideford (10 miles) or charters can be arranged from Clovelly.
