The head chef is Mark Beardshall from Yorkshire who has extensive knowledge and a real passion for British food. Small plates are a key feature on the menu, allowing a chance to sample some of Britain’s finest in-season produce. The Brasserie is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as the chance to enjoy something sweet in the afternoon when Central & Co serves afternoon tea.
The focus of the Brasserie’s bar is encapsulated by the magnificent bespoke refrigerated wine wall behind the bar which has been designed to showcase the diverse and unique styles of sparkling wines from across the world, from the finest English and classic French to the unusual Japanese. The list also includes a selection of ten sparkling cocktails that compliment each of the ten sparkling wines that are served by the glass.
The Bar Below is a unique drinking experience in an unconventional yet intimate space where exceptional spirits are used based on their flavour profile rather than their branding. The drinks therefore highlight and enhance the base spirits rather than overpower them, resulting in cocktails in their simplest form.
The decor consists of brass chandeliers, marble tables and vintage wall lights as well as polished concrete walls and floors and vast mirrored walls. The ground floor has a bar at the far end, drawing the guest’s eye through the restaurant via ceiling high brass fridges and art deco lighting whilst downstairs, a marble island bar is the core feature with brass finishes.
