Reviews for Cricklewood Glass, 229 Cricklewood Broadway, London, NW2 3HP

STOLEN 1752.00 - IS the only word that fits when someone has been paid 1752.00 to do a job and decides they won’t complete the job or give you your money back. So be very careful going into any sort of agreement with this company. Their actions are highly fraudulent. They have been given enough to time to rectify the situation before I posted this review.

I can see they respond to negative feedback and try to justify why they acted in such a particular way. so hopefully they will respond to this post, as the last 3 emails I have received from this company is ‘our legal team is looking into it’ Instead of trying to find a solution.
I’m not sure what the lawyers are looking into as you don’t need a law degree to tell you, you cant take someone’s money and not do a job.

They came out to quote the job on Monday 11th of January.

On 20th January 2021, I paid £1752.00 for the job they quoted.

They initially quoted me £1752.00 to change 2 glass panels in London SW1Y.
They came out to measure the glass on 3 different occasions as they could not work out the thicknesses.
They booked in an installation on Friday 5th of February. While on the roof and ready to change the glass they realised they cut the wrong thickness even tho they had previously been on site 3 times to measure. Which meant re cutting the glass again. When I asked for a new date they replied that due to their suppliers closing because of Covid it will be installed on the 4th of March 2021

On the 3rd of March I messaged them saying if the job was taking place the next day

The reply I got was through a phone message
-
- ‘Hi it is booked in for tomorrow Have just spoke with ..... Name .....he has asked to confirm that the scaffolding has been put up inside - As requested by the team that came out
- Many Thanks ‘

(I have decided not to put any names on a public forum as this is not a personal vendetta against any particular person but just the actions of the company)

As you can see from the message - the person who originally quoted the job who happens to be the manager or owner of the company. Did not need or requested a scaffolding so did not quote for that.

His fitters that came out to complete the job on the 5th of February 2021, probably went back and requested a scaffolding.

So the owner or manager decided that instead of putting some scaffolding to complete the job. Decided he will attempt to pass the cost on to me, and start a blame game that”he had told me”. He said he Now requires me, the customer, to put up scaffolding or they will not do the job and will not give me the money back which I paid.

I tried to reason with them that the quote I have received does not mention anywhere that the customer needs to supply scaffolding.
In any job if scaffolding is essential part of the job it would be clearly mentioned in the quote . Especially if you require the customer to organise it. He also did not realise that his colleague had texted me that the team who requested the scaffolding was the fitters and was not him who originally quoted the job.

So I gave the company the option to either complete the job and if they require a scaffolding it can be at their own cost or pay the money back .

Underpricing a job, taking the money and then stating different particulars to complete the job is highly fraudulent . Using delaying tactics for people to give up and give in to their demands is not ethical. Not answering emails and putting the phone down mid conversation is just bad manners and bad customer service.

I have informed trading standards about their actions also I have given them a number of days to reply before I start legal action.

I will be amending the review if I receive a solution but I Suspect this is unlikely to happen . So I will update if I have any news from trading standards or the court case.

Depending on the companies response to this post I’m also willing to attach the quote, emails and also txt messages received and sent to prove all the above is true .
