Glan Y Gro is situated in a unique lakeside location less than 5 minutes from Bala town. You get the peace and quiet tranquility of the beautiful Snowdonia countryside with the convenience of local amenities including cafes pubs restaurant and grocers. Anglers and cyclists are also catered for by a couple of dedicated shops.
For the past two plus years Glan Y Gro has operated as a Bed & Breakfast providing accommodation in Bala. We accomplished a lot in that time rising from 15th to be the top rated B&B in Bala (according to TripAdvisor) within 6 months of operating and accommodating over 2000 guests.
Glan Y Gro now offers 4 beautiful suites each with its own unique character with even Vyrnwy (formerly our top b&b room and now our smallest suite) offering kingsize bed kitchenette/diner and private balcony offering views of the lake and of the steam railway. Our top room Arenig offers direct access to the upper balcony kitchenette lounge/dining room bathroom with separate shower and double ended whirlpool bath and a dual aspect bedroom with flexible configuration - zip and link beds can be either twin or kingsize.
The property is set in approximately 4 acres of mostly wooded grounds that are bisected by the small gauge steam railway and after parking in the ample car park the reception is accessed via an iron bridge. For those less able it is possible to drop off outside reception and then to either turn by the shore or reverse back over the bridge (please inform us if you will need assistance with this).
Access to the lake is easiest using our own slipway ideal for kayakers and small boat sailors - but please remember to enquire about permits for lake use whether sailing kayaking boarding or just fishing from our shore.
Glan Y Gro is an ideal location for those just wishing to unwind watch and listen to the lake lapping on the shore maybe enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony (and don t forget the Welsh cheese - stunning).
