Glen Orchy House. This unique building was built in 1904 when it served as a convent for the Episcopalian church and was known as the House of charity .
In the 1920 s the building became a rectory for Lerwick congregation of St Magnus church and remained thus until 1969 when it became privately owned.
Glen Orchy House became a guest house in 1991 when it was carefully restored to create modern and welcoming accommodation whilst retaining the original style features and character of the building.
The Guest House is conveniently close to both ferry and the local bus station allowing easy access at the beginning and end of your journey to the Shetland islands.
Glen Orchy House has most of the facilities you need to truly relax during your visit to Lerwick and the Shetland islands whether you are visiting for business or pleasure.
