Description

Starnash is a typical Sussex-style farmhouse located in the village of Upper Dicker. A short walk away is an award winning village shop and cafe and a country pub serving delicious food seven days a week.

Starnash Farmhouse is set back off the road with views over fields and trees. It feels peaceful and rural and you will wake to the sound of birds (and maybe a few sheep). The farmhouse has vintage charm and a modern-rustic style. It is also an eco-friendly B&B with an efficient ground source heating system and a discreet array of solar panels located on the roof of our pole barn. All the food we cook is fresh and where possible home-grown or locally sourced.

We are located within easy access of all the many attractions of this county. It is easy to get to Starnash by road or rail plane (London-Gatwick airport) or boat (Newhaven ferry port) and once you are here there is plenty of free parking.

Starnash Farmhouse is ideally situated for a trip along the Sussex coast: from Hastings with it s clusters of tall black fishermen s huts on the beach close to the Old Town to Eastbourne and the white cliffs known as the Seven Sisters or rock pooling at Birling Gap or go west for a trip to the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove. You could set off with a picnic and walk the chalk ridges of the South Downs Way the sea glittering on one side and a patchwork of fields and farms on the other. We are perfectly situated if you are planning a night at the opera - Glyndebourne Opera House is just 5 miles away.

Throughout May experience the exhilarating Brighton Festival and visit Charleston Farmhouse for the Charleston Literary festival. The quirky market town of Lewes is a great place to visit for markets and antique emporiums or even a night out at the famous Lewes bonfire extravaganza in November. Whether you are just getting away from it all for a few days or planning a longer holiday there is always something to do in Sussex whatever the weather or the time of year.
