In the North East of the county and close to Westfield Cottage the mighty Cheviot Hills encompassed within the Northumberland National Park rise to the Scottish border. Each season has its own unique charms and some of the finest walking can be enjoyed during the winter months.



Only four miles away Cragside House previously owned by Lord Armstrong has always been a popular tourist attraction.

Set in breathtaking surroundings this historic building has universal appeal. Fishing has always been a big attraction in Northumberland.

Much has been reported about the quality of fishing on the River Coquet. Salmon and Trout amongst others being caught on a regular basis. Fishing Licences can be purchased locally and the river is only 200 metres from our doorstep.



Kielder Reservoir is also a popular fishing hotspot. Situated deep in the heart of Kielder forest this vast man made lake is fabulous for both fishing and watersports.
