Built in 1866 the Duke has all the character and charm of a traditional country inn built in Derbyshire limestone with slate roofs roaring log fires and extensive gardens our pub is well worth a visit.
Our inn has been redecorated relatively recently in a country style that provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere for both drinkers and diners alike. The menu is simple and traditional with a big focus on traditional pub favourites and our 28-day-aged Derbyshire beef that gives us a wide selection of steaks and grills.
The extensive floral gardens offer comfortable seating area with stunning views overlooking Riber Castle and the Derwent Valley .
Our Rooms are situated around a courtyard giving outside seating area for you to sit and relax after a day walking around the beautiful countryside. With Lumsdale falls only a 10 minute walk away you have a stunning natural waterfall to visit.
Our Rooms are en-suite and available as follow . We have 6 Double rooms 1 Twin room 1 four poster Room and 1 Family room (1 double bed and bunk beds up to the age of 16)
We allow dogs (at an extra charge) in rooms 6 7 and 8 (best to ring and check)
