Under new ownership since 2010 Y Talbot has been sensitively renovated to provide high quality hospitality and accomodation. In addition to renovating the bedrooms and public areas we have also built a superb new kitchen for our chef and team as well as landscaping the rear gardens building a new car park and bike store.It s been a massive project but our guests really appreciate it!
Our sumptuous Superior bedrooms offer flexible accomodation to suit all needs- double twin or single family rooms suites and a ground floor accessible room for those with impaired mobility. All our Superior rooms come with luxury ensuite bathroom with walk in shower some rooms also have baths. We also offer two smaller and simpler twin and single Standard rooms.
Y Talbot offers our guests excellent food and drink.Head Chef Dafydd Watkin trained with Marco Pierre White and is passionate about food using the highest quality ingredients (locally sourced wherever possible) to create our contemporary Welsh menu. We also offer a wide selection of Welsh cask ales all year round and provide a showcase for the best local produce of West Wales. Michelin Guide Listed since 2015. awarded Tow AA Rosettes in 2016.
West Wales has a rich and thriving Welsh language and culture most of our staff are Welsh speaking and live locally we pride ourselves on offering a warm Croeso to our guests.
Situated on the market square in Tregaron Ceredigion Y Talbot enjoys a splendid rural location at the foot of the Cambrian mountains.The university towns of Lampeter and Aberystwyth and the stunning Ceredigion coastline are only half an hour s drive away.
For outdoor enthusiasts there is much to offer excellent walking can be had from the back door of Y Talbot as well as superb cycling off and on road fishing and riding. For lovers of history there are numerous attractions within close proximity from early churches and Strata Florida Cistercian abbey to Devils bridge and the Hafod estate.
