Description

Chare Close is situated on Castle Hill in the old Eastern part of Haltwhistle towards the area referred to as Town Foot. Above us through the trees once stood the original Medieval Castle overlooking the River Tyne and Pennine hills beyond.

At the bottom of the hill runs the Haltwhistle Burn which winds a tortuous path from the hills of Hadrians Wall through the Burn Gorge and on to the river Tyne.

The Burn Gorge also served as the route of the old 19C mineral line leading stone from the quarries of the Whin Sill and coal from the mines down to the Tyne Railway. The old mineral line now forms the bed of a footpath leading from Chare Close up the burn to Hadrians Wall itself.

At Chare Close we are delighted to offer a choice of three ensuite rooms for guests 2 twin rooms and one double with a complementary informal continental style breakfast.

Guests also have the use of a small kitchen complete with fridge freezer and washing machine

with an adjacent dinning room and spacious comfortable sitting room.
