The Cricketers Arms in Rickling Green is a beautiful country pub with rooms on the doorstep of the rolling Essex countryside. It s halfway between Bishops Stortford & Saffron Walden & only 12 minutes from Stansted Airport.
Set in a wonderful warm red brick building overlooking the expanse of the green & the historic cricket ground the pub s the perfect place for a stop-off en route to or from the airport a short break in the countryside or if you re in the area visiting friends or attending a wedding.
Step foot through the door and you ll find a cosy low-ceilinged oak beamed bar with a roaring log fire & lots of comfy spots to enjoy a beer or glass of wine a stylish restaurant serving great quality freshly cooked food and pretty views over the green.
Hot food is served all day & on the menu is a wide choice of freshly cooked seasonal food - much of it sourced locally - & a particularly good English breakfast to set you up for the day. There are real ales & a thoughtfully chosen wine list with plenty of wines & Champagnes to enjoy by the bottle or glass. The service is warm & friendly.
Upstairs there are ten individually designed bedrooms all with en suite facilities. Some are modern with contemporary furnishings & others more traditional with antique pieces. All have comfortable king or super king size beds with good linen & luxurious throws as well as powerful showers fluffy white towels complementary toiletries hairdryer & tea and coffee making facilities. There is digital flat screen television free Wi-Fi in every room & free internet access throughout the pub.
