Award winning team Tom Jayne and Chris took The Snooty Fox on in 2016 with the vision of creating a home from home atmosphere a pub where you can leave your boots by the door after a walk on the fells and melt into the couches next to the roaring open fires. This vision became reality. After an extensive refurbishment The Snooty Fox has been revitalised and is now everything you imagine an English countryside inn should be.
Jayne used her eye for interiors in the renovation of the 9 en-suite bedrooms in the main body of the building. Merging new and old she has created a set of stunning rooms that have retained the character of the 17th century pub but also she has brought the modern amenities that we expect in accommodation. All the rooms have been fitted with Samsung smart TVs for your view pleasure and have been tastefully decorated to give you the more comfortable say possible.
The refurbishment continues downstairs into the bar restaurant and snug. We pride ourselves on our 35-strong gin bar the largest in Kirkby Lonsdale. Weird and wonderful is what we do! If you have a penchant for fine spirits this is certainly the bar for you! Or if you fancy a break midday why not sample some our outstanding coffee from local roasters Kircabi coffee. Then as the evenings draw in you can take seat in our candlelit restaurant and enjoy an evening of fantastic locally sourced food. We focus on taking classic pub dishes and bringing them up to high standard. Why not try our Slow Braised Beef Short Rib or maybe the Beetroot and Feta Salad would be more to your taste Accompany your meal with a wine from our carefully selected wine list provided by one the best wine merchants out there Corney and Barrow who proudly carry a double royal seal not something to be scoffed at!
