In 2009 we set about converting an old stone-built storehouse at the foot of Cheddar Gorge into a set of five self-contained apartments. Our mission was to combine modern luxury and comfort with a taste of traditional country living. In doing so we have been awarded an Enjoy England Four Star Rating.
Now we re proud to be able to offer them to visitors as they make a ideal base for weekend breaks or for longer vacations. Each apartment has its own personality but all enjoy wonderful space and light. With atmospheric high ceilings and most have views over the River Yeo which flows past the building.
All apartments are double glazed for extra comfort with individual thermostatically controlled central heating. In each living area there is prime oak flooring creating a feeling of space and elegance with a comfortable sofa bed. The bedrooms have been fitted with luxury carpet to give that warming feeling when you get out of bed in the morning.
As well as the towering cliffs of the Gorge one of England s most astonishing natural landscapes Cheddar has an attractive village with much to offer. Take a guided tour deep into the Mendip Hills as you explore Cheddar Caves or learn how the village s famous cheese is made.
Although the apartments are set in the heart of the Gorge they enjoy tranquil setting with stunning views of the Gorge and Mendip Hills. There are a host of places to visit and explore within just yards of the Apartments. We are also well located for visiting the coast and many other West Country attractions.
