Set in the peaceful conservation village of Allanton the Allanton Inn is a charming and welcoming coaching inn dating from the eighteenth century. Allanton is a small rural village located between Duns and Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish Borders. The village lies in Scotland just over the border from England only a 10 minute country drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed and the A1. The inn offers informal dining in a modern rural environment - provided by wooden floors wooden tables and chairs brightly coloured soft furnishings local and contemporary artwork fresh cut flowers subtle lighting and an open log fire in the winter months. The seven bedrooms provide comfort and relaxation with homely charm and modern facilities showcased alongside traditionally timeless d?cor. Each room feature plump cushions Egyptian cotton bedding fluffy white towels and Scottish produced toiletries. All the rooms are en-suite with newly fitted showers flat screen TV radio alarm clock hairdryer coffee/ tea making tray with Scottish biscuits and a local history/ information folder. We have toys and games for your children to enjoy and free WiFi available for the guests in all the room and public areas. Second only to the skill and originality of our kitchen team is the sourcing of local Borders produce giving us confidence that the Allanton Inn gives a new opportunity for eating and showcasing the good food in the Borders. We make our own bread daily and have a good selection of Scottish cheeses to choose from. Our desserts are all home-made although we do source the best ice cream from Giacopazzis in Eyemouth. There is an enclosed private beer garden with stunning open views over the Borders countryside. Children are always welcome here and in addition to our children s menu dishes from the main menu are available in smaller portions. On warmer days dining in the enclosed beer garden is a treat and if we get some summer sun. You can use this great space just to soak up the sun rolling countryside and unwind. In the winter months when game is available we utilise the abundance of local game then on Sundays we always have a Sunday Roast on the menu served with all the trimmings.
